What Is the Open Water Certification?
The Open Water Diver certification is your passport to diving anywhere in the world. Whether you’re going through SSI, PADI, or another globally recognized agency, the structure is largely the same:
Knowledge Development (Theory)
Confined Water Sessions (Pool or Shallow Water)
Open Water Dives (4 Dives Required)

Can I Do the Theory in Advance?
Yes! We highly recommend it.With online e-learning, you can finish the knowledge development portion before arriving in Grand Cayman. That way, you spend more time diving and less time studying during your vacation.
Most students finish the e-learning in 6–8 hours (self-paced).

Who Can Get Certified?

Where Will I Dive?
DiveTech uses shallow reef sites for training that are just minutes from our shore or boat launch. You’ll likely explore:

What Should I Bring?
We provide all equipment - but feel free to bring your own mask or fins for comfort. Here’s a quick checklist:

Dive to 60 ft anywhere in the world
