Adaptive Diver training now available at Divetech

Divetech Instructor Serena Evans recently volunteered for the Cayman Islands Stay-Focused event. The not-for-profit event offers mobility-challenged teenagers the opportunity to become certified SCUBA divers and empowers them through the development program.

Serena comments ‘Diving is a wonderful sport for people with disabilities, the feeling of freedom that is provided by the water gives people with cognitive and / or physical challenges the opportunity to participate in a sport on the same level as an able-bodied person.'

Divetech offers both PADI Adaptive Support Diver and Adaptive Techniques Specialist courses. The Adaptive Support Course is open to all divers who want to assist  their buddies and learn  skills which can be applied for both SCUBA and freediving. For professionals wanting to prepare for teaching divers with special requirements or disabilities Divetech also runs the Adaptive Technique Specialty which is a more intensive 2-day course.

Grand Cayman has easy conditions all year with numerous shallow sites that are ideal for entry level training for all diver abilities, contact us at info@divetech.com for more information and course availability
