For the fifth year, Divetech at Cobalt Coast Resort will host Kids Sea Camp in Grand Cayman, with special attention to the TEEN Divers or soon to be divers this year! It's 2 weeks in the summertime dedicated to families with children. While parents are out exploring the walls and reefs of Cayman with diving freedom, the kids are enrolled in water-based programs learning to dive! The programs are fully supervised by Dive Instructors and action packed including marine identification, conservation, digital photography, art, underwater scooters, turtles and tons more! As our ambassadors of the sea for future generations, the children are taught to love the water and respect the marine creatures. It’s a jam packed week that is fun for the whole family.

Focusing on Digital Photography, using MacBooks with iLife software, photo classes and clinics for all the kids, evening slide shows and Digital underwater Cameras from Sea Life! Plus underwater scooters - how cool!

The 6 days of Kids Sea Camp SEAL program includes excursions that start in the pool and end up in the ocean accomplishing Aqua Missions! Aqua Missions 1 - 5, teaches kids the basics of diving - things like buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, etc.  The 6th day is a Stingray City trip! The kids will complete underwater adventure missions where they learn scuba activities and will move onto becoming specialists for Inner Space, Snapshots, Reef Fish and Coral Awareness Creatures, Navigation, Scooters, Stingrays and more. They will see octopus, lobsters, puffer fish, corals galore, sponges of multiple colors, hundreds of species of reef fish, barracuda, stingrays, turtles just to name a few of our friends.  Your young ones are fully supervised by highly trained Divetech Instructors to insure safe care while having loads of fun.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: Digital has taken the underwater photography world by storm. Get in on the action with the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course, capture the underwater world with your camera and edit, enhance, email or create your own web page with your own underwater photos!

During the course you learn to use the Shoot, Examine and Adjust method, which takes full advantage of digital technology. The result is great! underwater photos faster than you may imagine. You not only learn how to take good photos, but how to share them with your friends via email or printing, optimizing your work with your computer, storage and more. Talk about show & tell!

You will be provided with an underwater camera and housing with a strobe, CD’s to copy your photo’s onto, access to projectors and screen to show your photos, a photo clinic/dive with photo pro Courtney Platt on top of your course to learn how to shoot, edit and enhance your photos on a PC.

SCOOTER/DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE: These are a blast to go cruising on the reef on. The scooters offer a thrill and allow you to take a long ride, without swimming and cover multiple dive sites in one easy swoop! Scooters will be provided to all teens during Kids Sea Camp, and the specialty course is available for signing up for this option.

  

You’ll be diving pristine and beautiful Sea Fan Reef (house reef at Cobalt Coast Resort) and Lighthouse Point on dive sites filled with marine life, corals, sponges and lots and lots of fish. Kids already certified can earn a new certification card during this fun filled series of dives. The dives will include Buoyancy, Digital Photography, Research, Navigation, Coral Reef Ecology including marine identification and habits of fish, sponges and corals, underwater scooters and some more fun dives.  Everyone will finish off the week with a 12 foot dive in the crystal clear waters of our natural aquarium at Stingray City to see the Southern Rays, Green Moray Eels and lots of schools of reef fish. For kids 12 and over, a Deep and Night dive are also included in the program with a night snorkel included fro the younger ones. Plus, you’ll meet a lot of other cool teens that share your joy of the underwater world!
